if   syldor   hadn’t   already   disowned   vax,   he   surely   would   have   if   he   saw   him   now.         vax   never   plans   on   this   sort   of   career,   inking   up   people’s   bodies   for   a   living,   but   it’s   better   than   a   lot   of   the   routes   he   takes   before   he   settles   on   this   one.      and   it’s   something   that   brings   in   a   fair   bit   of   cash   while   vex   is   going   through   school      —      helps   with   the   rent   and   occasionally,   when   they’ve   got   money   to   spare,   with   vex’s   student   loans.      he’s   not   the   most   artistic   one   here,   but   he’s   the   cheapest,   so   he   gets   a   lot   of   regulars   .   .   .      but   @nothawkgrl​​   isn’t   one   of   them.            “      i’m   vax,      ”            he   introduces   himself   with   a   welcoming   smirk,   tugging   his   wayward   hair   back   as   they   sit   at   his   station.            “      what’re   we   doing   today,   kate?      ”

getting   through   close   call   after   close   call   is   exhausting   .   .   .      but   it’s   better   than   not   getting   through   it   at   all.      he’s   got   to   make   it   back   to   his   sister.      that’s   the   most   important   thing   in   the   world.      so   what   if   he’s   a   little   bloody   at   the   end   of   the   day?   

sure he’s done great things.  sure there’s good things about him.  but he doesn’t want to see her share more than those with him.   and sometimes, like right now, he can’t see the good outweighing the bad.  not necessarily on the moral scale of things, but just.        ❝  there’s a lot about me i wouldn’t want to see you burdened with.  ❞
