40 degrees Celsius in the castle courtyard means that I was only in foot soldiers armour and only for a short time unlike years past when Iβd be in full armour in such temps for hours. People always ask how I cope in the heat. You just do. You get used to the discomfort. It doesnβt make it enjoyable, you just learn to put up with it. A big inspiration to me are fire fighters, law enforcement, ambulance officers and the military, who just have to put up with all climate conditions and get the job done. Itβs easy for us to sit in our AC or heating and say, βhow did they ever manage?β. Never forget that there are still people out there in the crazy weather toughing it out to save lives.
