AeroBeeは2004年頃からブリジストンの理想の電子ペーパーとしての研究が発表されており、2010年4月の展示会「ファインテックジャパン」では、同社の電子ペーパー技術QR-LDP技術を軸に、4096色表示や手書き機能、ネットワーク接続機能を実装したAeroBeeブランド名の端末のデモを行っていた。ブリジストンのQR-LPDは、E-Ink社などが採用している電気泳動方式に比べると、切り替えの速さは約300倍とのこと。
