Here's a hypothetical scenario to really illustrate the issue before I get off this stupid app:

You write a beautiful, poignant short story about your childhood dog or a kind stranger who helped you or the lowest day of your life or the god of small things. You post it to tumblr. You get a couple likes from your few mutuals, maybe two reblogs.

Somehow, Haiku Bot finds it. The bot turns one of your lines into a cute little haiku and appends it to the end of the post in a reblog.

Haiku Bot has a billion more followers than you. Those followers see your story thanks to the gimmick bot and LOVE it. They spread it, 70, 80, 100k notes.

Haiku Bot gets ALL THE CREDIT. People reblog it from haiku bot with comments and notes about how much your story speaks to them. Someone draws art about your story. Someone says it helped them through a dark moment.

YOU SEE NONE OF IT. You're still sitting on your blog with maybe eight notes on your story that everyone loves and you never even know that they loved it. The next time you think about pouring your heart out on tumblr, you decide not to. It's not like anyone's listening.
