Daemon sat at the head table at the feast, happily reveling in the celebrations that honored him. Daemon had finally gotten what he wanted, finally, he had been named as Visery's heir. It was official with the death of Queen Aemma and of baby Baelon. Now nearly two months had passed and Viserys had named Daemon heir, and held a feast in his honor.

Daemon was enjoying every aspect of the celebration, especially the part where Otto Hightower was seething on the other end of the table. Otto had tried to stop the appointment of Daemon as the official heir, but he was unsuccessful. Daemon was happy to see Otto's plan to cement his own power over Viserys dashed, and he was eager to worsen the wound.

The Rogue Prince finished his current cup of wine and stood, making his way over to Otto Hightower, although gave him a soft smirk before moving past him and turning his attention to Alicent who sat next to Otto.

"My Lady Alicent," Daemon gave her a dashing smile, "might you give me the honor of a dance?"

A pale hand lifted the curtains, covering the windows of her carriage. They had left Storm's End what felt like ages ago. The lady could not imagine how her mother managed to make her way to King's Landing so frequently, but then again, her mother knew that her beloved brother was awaiting her, Relena only knew that a prince she had never met before was expecting her. Or maybe he was not. Perhaps there was another lady he would have preferred, and he was simply doing his duty, or perhaps he was refusing his duty and the King, his brother, would drag him to the Sept of Baelor himself. As the red stones of the Keep came closer, the lady let out a soft sigh and allowed the curtains to fall back in place. Three ladies were sitting with her. A cousin from the House Estermond and one from House Lannister and a lady from the Vale, send by Jon Arryn. No one else had joined her. Her father refused to come, he would not set foot in King's Landing, not while that man ruled, were his word. Her grandfather was to meet her at court, the only person she would know, as the lady herself had never left Storm's End. The carriage came to a stop and the doors were quickly opened. They had arrived. It were Relena's ladies that left the carriage first, all immediately sinking into a curtsy, as they lined up in front of the carriage. Then the lady herself stepped out. The hood of her cloak covering most of her face as she too sunk into a curtsy. As she rose again, her hands pushed back the hood, revealing her face as she carefully glanced up.

He hadn’t been alerted to his sister sneaking out, not even when she took off on dragon, initially. It was just after Daenerys’s handmaiden had gone to check on the princess and had altered Rhaegar to his sister’s disappearance. He waited patiently for her to come back to the dragon pit and he sighed as he watched her dismount her smallest dragon. “Daenerys” he started, telling her how she smelt of dragon. He waited for her response, hoping it would be good.

She stopped as soon as she started speaking and Rhaegar gave her a look as she stopped. “ A night ride on a horse is dangerous enough but a dragon...Well, go on. Give your reasoning, Princess.” He knew she wasn’t an heir, but she was still responsible for upholding their house and the way their ruling of Westeros was to be viewed.

Daenerys had seen her brother deep in his cups plenty of times in her life, but there was something different about this time. He looked so broken, so lost. This wasn’t the same big brother that would share her bed at night to keep her safe or that taught her the mother tongue of their family. Something about him and the way he was stumbling around so drunk made him seem small. It gave her the strength to yell at him for a change to try and stop this behavior before it could cost him his life. 

She could see Drogo and his warriors poised to strike since he had broken one of their most sacred rules, but she held out a hand to halt them. She could handle his threats and had been handling them ever since he had to sell their mother’s crown, this was nothing new to her. As he whispers to her she dares move closer to him putting her life in danger should he pick the sword back up, but she could tell that he would not hurt her. “Then tell the dragon to sleep, Viserys. You control the dragon, not the other way around.” She talked to him as if he was an animal that could be easily spooked holding a hand out to him. 

If only he could understand that this was her home now, these were her people now because of the choices that he had made. She didn’t want to add insult to injury though and just gave him a look of sad pity. “We can go home.” She answered him in high valyrian so that they were the only ones who would truly understand. “I will make Drogo take us home.” She promised him as long as it would keep him alive though their homes were two different things.
