How ironic is that? You take the breath from a cat, from a cat twice as firey as he was small and who you’ve known for years, and with it goes yours.

Well, maybe it’s ironic. Maybe he’s seen too much vengeance from the dead to really think that, to not imagine it’s starry paws squeezing around his neck.

It wasn’t- He doesn’t deserve it though does he-? He’s heard all this stuff about Ravenstar, about all the cats he killed- ok, maybe that doesn’t change much after all, but surely preventing a- surely since Mason planned to kill-?

Why, Mason? Wiggity Wacks wonders desperately, as he buries his face in the moss of his nest late that night. The collar, broken on the forest floor, sits in his mind. You aren’t from this clan either. You’re just- a hypocrite.

Oh, no, how rude is it to call a cat you just killed a hypocrite? It must be, like, the rudest, at least when the killing’s an accident and he really Didn’t deserve it, and Wiggity didn’t mean it, which he already said, but..

and he can’t tell anyone, can he? Surely he’d be exiled, or maybe killed, maybe he’d just be ‘scum’ again like Mason said, maybe- Even if it would be fine he can’t Breathe around Mason’s paws to tell anyone, and he wouldn’t know who to tell, and he’s as dead as Mason is either way. To the guilt or the sentencing.

Ok, ha, that’s dramatic. It doesn’t feel dramatic, it feels real, but so do like, really bad dreams, and he wakes up fine from those, so he just.. Outlasts it? Outlasts it. Does his best, lays low, lets absolutely nobody know. He can do this.

He can get away with murder.
