Elena stepped out of the car, the faint sound of music being heard in the distance. It looked like Caroline had already begun to set up the sound system, and Elena bobbed her head slightly to the beat of the song, recognizing it as one of the remixes her brother had listened to before. A slight pang hit in her chest, and she briefly remembered the little scene Jeremy had caused when she mentioned going to Caroline's party tonight. Not only had her brother given her the cold shoulder, but he decided to add a sarcastic comment to follow; anger boiling inside of Elena. Letting out a sigh, and discarding the memory to the back of her mind, Elena walked over to the trunk and popped it open. She took out a couple bottles of alcohol, and let one of the guys nearby carry the cases of beer. Aunt Jenna had always liked Caroline, and this was Jenna's gift to Caroline - she wanted to make sure Caroline beat the Lockwood's in this party betting game. Holding up her finger indicating she'd only be a minute, Elena headed into the direction of where the music was coming from, cradling the bottles in her arms as if it were a child.
She wanted to find Caroline, and set up for her party. Even though she wasn't in the party mood, a simple 'no' to Caroline wouldn't suffice. 'The faster you set up, the faster it'll start, and the faster you can go home', Elena thought to herself. She knew it was rude to be thinking of something like this, especially since it was her best friend's party, but she couldn't help but think that if she let herself be happy for even one minute, the whole world would come crashing down on her. Moving past a group of people setting up, Elena found the blonde ordering around a lost girl who looked like she just wanted to crawl into a corner and hide. Setting down the bottles at a nearby table, Elena interrupted the conversation, and grinned at Caroline. "Hey!" She said, giving her a hug. The smile on Elena's face had turned into a grin, and she forced it to be an even bigger grin. Pointing over her shoulder with her thumb, "Party favours from Jenna," Elena added with a small shrug. Looking around, Elena slowly started to see everything come in place, and she raised her eyebrows in surprise. "If this party doesn't beat Tyler's, then I don't know what will," she said. Clapping her hands, she grinned, "Alright, what do you need me to do?" She asked, excitement bubbling up inside of Elena. Maybe this party wouldn't be a bad idea, after all she would experience a once in a life time experience by seeing a comet, as well as have an excuse to get her mind off current events.
