1958 #Gibson #FlyingV. NOT a reissue. 😮

It's the rarest and most beautiful guitar I have ever had the privilege to be in the same room with for a few hours! I will never wash these hands (or eyes!) again! 😂

1959 #Gisbon #LesPaul Standard. This one is only the 4th #burst I have even seen in my life...and the 2nd I have been privileged enough to play and spend a meaningful amount of time taking real photos of. The top has nicely faded to lemon, but if you pop the guard off the cherry is still there. Eternal thanks to the owner for letting me spend time with this beauty!

1963 #Fender#CustomTelecaster, from my friend's collection.

You may recall seeing this one somewhere recently - it was for sale at @folkwaymusic last week! It sure didn't stay up for sale very long though - these are very hard to find, and when one comes up collectors jump on them. The early #CustomTele model is probably just as rare as the 1957 PAF-loaded Goldtop I posted yesterday. Other than this one I have only seen maybe one or two others in my entire life (and none of them were in Canada).

Swipe through to see the exquisite natural wear on this one. In fact, now that I have seen this guitar, I may need to apologize to the Fender Custom Shop for all my scathing critiques of their Heavy Relic finishes over the years... 🤣

It's a cold and dreary, grey autumn day here today on the Western edge of #Toronto, Canada, and I could really use something sunburst-y to pick up my spirits:

Here's a lovely faded lemon-burst 1959 #LesPaul Standard, photographed at the @dlott65 Presents First Annual #UnionSound #Toronto Guitar-Buddies Congregation and Car Boot Sale, hosted by @chriswstringer8, back in early September.

This real deal '59 burst alone would have been enough to make the trip to downtown Toronto to see, photograph, and try out, but it was just one of MANY incredible #vintageguitars brought in by the invitees to share with their friends and let them noodle on for a few hours on a sunny summer afternoon.

It was a truly magical event, memories of which I am sure will keep the cockles of my heart toasty warm as we hurtle headlong into another frosty Canadian winter! 😂
