Tonight took an unexpected turn. My second home has been Vegas and I basically have a second life here (no I'm not a stripper...I have tons of family and friends out here that I've known forever) and one of my friends, whom I have known forever said that he was gonna take me home and we were gonna have a talk. He basically started out with how I view God and my religion and stuff, but we were shortly interrupted. So that's when he decided we were gonna have a talk when the night ended. We got into more than I thought we would and it's surprising the depths you can go, even with someone you've known your whole life. It was completely unexpected because I opened up SO much and I didn't even think that we would share similar stories. And for once, I wasn't the one giving advice. I was the one being listened to and that means something to me. I've had plenty of people listen to me, but this was different because he listened, he understood, and he responded. He sympathized with me and I'm always the one being sympathetic. He looked at me and told me what he saw in me as a person. He saw how loving and caring I am. He listened and he cared. It felt good and really reassuring and I really do have amazing friends that I am so beyond thankful for. People can surprise you even after 20 years.
