Especially with AI slop becoming more prevalent HOLY FUCK. 😭 Absolutely cringed when I saw a post of an AI slop "No Time" movie trailer, they really gotta find new jokes istg. I was definitely digging it before, because I fucking HATE the average AVGN fan who is ready to suck James cock at any time and act like Doug is Satan, finding a community which doesn't treat him in a "WHOLESOME 100 KEANU CHUNGUS" way was very comforting to me. But this year I found myself being increasingly frustrated by the sub especially when I discus some stupid shit I find there with my friend LMFAO.
I was absolutely fucking flabbergasted by their stupidity when they tried to claim that Gnome Cave's cover art is AI, while clearly it fucking WASN'T. Even when THE FUCKING ARTIST HERSELF showed up with WIP images and all these BRAINDEADS were still not convinced somehow.
There are still some gems to be found, but they become increasingly rare.
Always hated James being referred to as "Bimmy" tho. I know it's a reference to the Earthbound AVGN episode where James said "I'M BIMMY", but idgaf it's cringe as fuck. And truther adjacent youtubers also piss me off, like Red Slop Arcade which made a brazillion videos on Cinemassacre which are a whole bunch of nothing (they also made a pro-genAI video LMFAO) and that green-haired guy not even the redditgoers like which is saying something.
ALSO, they can't even hate on James properly anymore because these mfs ate up the latest Nerd episode which was like REALLY fucking mid even in terms of 2020s AVGN.
But, yeah, I wish there was a better space for James haters critics. (I like his old stuff, but absolutely LOATHE what he has become)
