Every time I see someone talk about how "Izuku lives off a teacher's salary" or is dissatisfied with the fact he became a teacher while the others became Pro Heroes... I just feel part of the story is kind of misunderstood?
Like, he wasn't a teacher for eight years and his friends weren't Pro Heroes for eight years either.
Izuku is 24 by the end of MHA. Now what 24 year old you know has been a teacher for 8 eight years?
Think about this. The others collectively had to pitch in to even get Izuku a suit. Meaning, during that whole time they were probably still sidekicks or just starting out as Pro Heroes, so their paychecks weren't probably as big as they could be by the time the eight years have passed.
As for how much Izuku is being paid?
Um... He works at UA? The principal is Nezu? Who we know is very rich?
He is probably comfortable.
I say he and the others have been at their careers for three years at most. Chapter 431 implies that some of them are just getting their own agencies.
Izuku ain't missing much from not being a Pro Hero until he got his suit.
And I hate this statement of Izuku "settled" being a teacher.
I wouldn't say he settled because he could have just worked a less satisfying job if he really was going to settle. In fact, he wouldn't have chosen UA to be a teacher at if he "settled" for teaching.
This boy went from wanting to attend UA to now teaching the next generation of heroes at the same school?
Izuku would have "settled" if he became a cop.
