I’ve noticed that one of the first horse poems you’ve posted is The Narcissist’s Prayer so I’d like to know your stances on people with npd (narcissistic personality disorder)
Howdy! Your wording is fine and I appreciate you being direct but I am a little baffled at why my specific 'stances' are important. Since you ask, though, I would say that I am broadly anti-psych l in my politics. I think that diagnostic labels like NPD, BPD, ODD, etc are often stigmatized and applied unevenly and in ways that seem closer to labeling someone as a 'bad person' who can be dismissed or harmed instead of focusing on the traumas and circumstances that may be leading that person to the behaviors that drive such a diagnosis. I think the pattern of behavior described in the poem of an escalating denial of responsibility for bad behavior is a real and socially harmful thing but that it is only loosely coupled to a clinical diagnosis of NPD. Those behaviors described in the poem are the thing I am critical of, not people who have a clinical diagnosis of NPD. I composed that poem mostly an exercise exploring the language it uses and how to adapt that to horses rather than a specific commentary on the clinical diagnosis or people assigned that diagnosis. If you think that my horse poem contributes to the general stigmatization of the diagnosis or is harmful in some other way and would like me to remove it I am open to hearing your arguments.
