Day 2: Monster under the bed
Yoosung knelt beside his bed and set a bowl down with some fresh meat. He scooted back and waited. It didn’t take long before a black taloned hand reached out to grab the food. Talons snagged the bowl and slowly dragged it under the bed. The arm had a greenish hue, iridescent in the light.
The blond sat back, amethyst eyes wide with wonder. After a few minutes a patch of red hair crossed the barrier of the bed, the darkness behind it not shifting. It was as if the entity simply manifested from nothing. He crawled out, green eyes locked on purple. Looking around and satisfied that they were alone he moved towards the human occupant of the room.
Yoosung remembered the first time he’d seen Saeran. He’d been playing LOLOL, absently eating cold pizza when there was movement his peripheral vision caught. His head swung towards his bed but he saw nothing. Shrugging he’d gone back to playing, setting the slice of pizza on the box on the floor.
Something grabbed the slice and rushed under the bed. Yoosung fell off his chair and stared at the bed but there was no more movement. Once he got himself under control he crawled towards the bed and peered under it, lifting the sheet. It was dark but there didn’t seem to be anything under it except some dust bunnies and an errant sock. Sitting back he let go of the sheet and shook his head. He turned, eyes falling on the pizza box. Opening it he grabbed another slice and gingerly held it outwards towards the bed. Something snatched it from him, making him yelp and crawl backwards, hitting the desk leg.
His breathing under control once more, he held out another piece. Holding it securely, whatever was under the bed wasn’t able to snatch it quickly. The greenish hand stopped moving as the entity’s body crawled out. Before him stood a creature about his own size, skin a greenish hue, mint green eyes swimming with vitality, red hair sticking out in all directions and crawling down its spine. It wore a dirty loincloth, its chest smooth and muscular.
Watching Saeran now, a name Yoosung had given him, brought a smile to his face. Remembering how frightened he was at first made him feel silly now. Saeran smirked as he slithered into Yoosung’s arms, kissing him with purple lips. Yoosung sighed into his mouth and leaned back onto the floor, arms wrapping around the iridescent body, fingers snaking through the hair line down his spine. It was thick and soft. Saeran groaned at the feeling it sent through his body.
Yoosung grinned, biting Saeran’s lower lip lightly. Opening his eyes he watched in fascination as Saeran’s skin lightened, the hair disappearing from his back, shortening to just below his ears, mint green eyes swirling into amber colored orbs. In no time at all, he looked just as human as Yoosung.
“Time to play?” Saeran teased. Play is what he called sex, which they had been enjoying often. Yoosung blushed and shook his head.
“Oh!” Saeran’s eyes popped out of his head and he jumped up, helping Yoosung up as well. His face was full of excitement. They had been going on these little outings for a few weeks now and Yoosung had amassed a great deal of do’s and don’ts for the creature. He had tried to explain what he was and where he came from. That he didn’t actually live under the bed, but that it was simply a portal.
Yoosung hadn’t been able to completely understand, but he gathered that there was an entirely different world that connected to this one in different areas where portals existed. Saeran had been drawn to Yoosung’s room by the smell of pizza and he’d been curious enough to try and take it. He’d come back because he had been intrigued by Yoosung and the fact that he hadn’t screamed or been overtly frightened by his image.
The blond was glad Saeran had decided to continue to visit and things had progressed further than he’d ever imagined.
“I think you’re ready to meet my family. If you still want to that is.” Yoosung said shyly.
“Really!?” Saeran asked. “You really think I’m ready?”
“I do.” Yoosung said. Saeran threw himself at him and hugged him tight.
“I won’t let you down. I’ll follow all the rules I promise!”
“I just want you to be yourself.”
“Myself?” Saeran stepped back and began to transform again.
“Well, I mean, let’s not give them a heart attack at first. Stay like this until I can tell them about you OK?”
“You mean it? You don’t have to, I can live like this if you want me to.” Saeran looked down and away.
“I want you to be who you are. But having others know about your true nature is dangerous. And will always be dangerous. But I fell in love with you and I want my family to know you like I do.”
Saeran held Yoosung close, forehead to forehead, closing his eyes and sighing. “My heart beats for only you. Is this love?”
Yoosung kissed him softly, “What do you think?” he asked, staring deeply into his lover’s eyes.
“I think…I know…you are my life. Without you I am alone, even when surrounded by others. You live in my heart and in my head. Where nothing else has ever touched. Love is as good a word as any.” They embraced once more. Two hearts beating in tandem, the universe shrinking around them.
