The hour was up, and despite working out all over the gym Sed still hadn’t found Orion. Where could he be? How silly of Sed though, OF COURSE Orion wasn’t going to be in the gym. He was probably out there getting whatever reward the top five tributes were getting. There had been a few canons, but Sed was sure none of them were Orion, heck they were probably caused by Orion, he had mentioned wanting to get a few of the other guys out of the way. And then the faces were broadcasted at the end of the hour, and Sed saw something that wasn’t supposed to be there:
Orion Levelle: District One
His heart stopped, and he frowned a few tears forming in his eyes, no no no there was no way that had happened. Orion couldn’t have died, he just couldn’t have. Sed needed him, he needed him to get through this. Quickly sprinting off to the locker room, Sed found a nice little corner to nestle himself into. A place where no one would find him for a few minutes to give him some privacy as he grieved the loss of his friend.
It was ONLY just two hours ago the two of them had been here, safe with each other, but he hadn’t seen him since then. There had been no time to reflect on what had happened in the locker room. These games were giving them no time to relax, to do anything. Slamming a fist and kicking a locker, Sed started to cry even harder. “FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!” Sed wasn’t a fan of cursing and this was the first time he was ever cursing. “FUCK ALL OF YOU FUCKS!! I HATE YOU!!” Slamming another fist into a locker, his knuckles were bleeding.
Pulling up his knees so he turned into a ball on the floor of the locker room, Sed was crying more then he had at the Reaping or when he killed the girl from Five. It was just two fucking hours ago, he had tripped in the gym and Orion had carried him to safety in here. It was just two hours ago, as they changed into fresh clothes that Sed realized he had feelings for Orion. It was just two hours ago, he kissed Orion and told him that. The other boy hadn’t known how to react but Sed didn’t care, he knew he needed him to keep going, he wanted Orion to know that and now he was gone. The boy who had been with him through training, and through the first hour of the arena. The boy who helped bring him back after he killed a girl, was gone. Rocking back, and forth as he cried. “I love you, I love you, I love, and I need you, Orion. I need you, please, please PLEASE come back.”
Sed knew Orion wasn’t coming back, and now he was going to die. He was going to die alone, and broken. Shaking his head, he wiped at his eyes. No, no Orion would want you to win, he’d want you to win this for both of you. “Get up, come on, get up Sed, you can do this. You can” Nodding his head harder. He pulled himself up, “I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.” The last time he said it, Sed said it with conviction. He could do this, he would do this, for his family, and for Orion. He had to say something, something Orion would be proud of. Wiping his eyes again, he looked at what he hoped was a camera.
“Bring it the fuck on Hour Four.”
