This is the queer, horror adjacent graphic novel you didnβt know that you needed in your life. I loved the way that the author mixed a Jane Austen remix with classic horror elements and the everyday casual cruelty of racism, misogyny, and homophobia. This was messy and heavy and I wanted to scream at the parents for not treating their teens like actual people more than once. But there were also so many little light moments that made me smile. I loved that Cade had a love of classic horror movies and that that love was felt throughout the whole story. Northranger is getting four out of five stars from me.
