Vincent’s Pizza Park is, apparently, a bit of a Pittsburgh legend. The signature “Vinnie Pie” is renowned for its greasiness—we ate there a year and a half or so ago, and Kurt’s girlfriend, a native Pittsburgher who had eaten there growing up, described the pie as “a kiddie pool of grease.” And it looked for awhile like that was going to be our only chance to baptize ourselves in its glorious waters; the North Braddock location closed shortly after we ate there because of some corporate drama involving franchise royalties or some shit (I say “shit” not because I don’t think it’s important to honor your contracts or whatever, but because everything that gets between me and my pizza is shit).

But, Vincent’s Pizza Park has risen phoenix-like and resplendent from its hiatus, with a fancy new interior that unquestionably makes it way less of a shithole. Which is honestly a little less fun, given that it used to have this awesome poorly-lit wood paneling thing going on, kind of like a finished basement in a sweet-as-hell bachelor pad. The best thing about the new décor is unquestionably the new sign outside, which you can get a load of in action here on their Facebook. Regardless of what you think of all this decorating stuff, though, it’s ultimately irrelevant when considering the real business at hand: the Vinnie Pie itself.
