If you’re a tower resident, tower rat, tower business owner, lover of art, lgbtq culture, theater arts, local breweries, small businesses, etc. this concerns you. If Adventure Church buys the Tower Theater and eventually opens a school on the property you can say goodbye to all of the restaurants, theaters, breweries, bars, future dispensaries that currently thrive there as well as the lgbtq culture / safe space. Or "Create a special carve-out to protect Tower bars and nightclubs!" You know where all that can be accomplished? In a formal rezoning process with public hearings ... which is exactly what Adventure Church has refused to apply for, denying the public a say in the plan of their neighborhood. The City of Fresno needs to hold them accountable for defying city municipal code. And WE need to hold the City of Fresno accountable for not protecting our neighborhood equitably.
