Bit of a dour note, but I'm going to be putting this blog on a bit of a hiatus in the new year. Glad to have provided some degree of enjoyment and relief over the past couple years through my little stories, but given how anal I've been about consistency the blog's become a bit of an unmanageable time sink in a world where I need money to live.

Saying that I've got three more stories ready to be published for the next few weeks ! After them it'll probably be quite some time before you see anything new, but I'll still be puttering around as a reader !

In my absence I encourage anyone looking to give writing smut a go to reach out. As ever, I'm happy to lend a hand and there's no better time to try something new than the present !

I normally hate to make posts like this, but this article was in my local newspaper this morning.

Now, I attend to a lot of military ceremonies throughout the year and usually some civilian or high officer will end the speech part by saying, "and God bless America, the greatest country in the world!"

When that happens I just want to storm the stage and ask, "What are we the greatest at? No, don't tell me your brainwashed patriotism. Show me the statistics: what are we the greatest at? Education? No. Health care? No. Rights? Certainly not. Technologic production? Uh-uh. Show me the statistics that say what makes America the greatest country or shut up."

Yes, we do have the ability to say we hate our government and our leader and we won't be kidnapped without warning and killed behind closed doors...but how does that one fact make this country I reside in the greatest one in the world?
