How does a royal funeral work if a king or queen dies?
The King/Queen would be proclaimed dead amongst the family, then the council, then the world. The body would then be prepared for the funeral, lying in state at a Cathedral so the nobles and commons alike can come pay respects. Usually their sons will stand watch over the body in a vigil, dressed in their regimental uniforms. After a period of a week, the funeral will occur. Nobles and royals from across the kingdom and world will attend, escorting the king/queen to their final resting place in a procession.
