Koschei was quiet, unsure of what to actually say to them at first. But he sighed, shifting upright in his car. “I… I know you’ve been going through… A lot of shit, Thete. But I’m not going to give you anything if that’s what you want to do. It’s not healthy.”

“Yes I am.” She defended, looking them in the eye and trying desperately to work out what they had just been talking about. She knew she’d been caught though, and quickly gave up. “M’ sorry.” She said quietly, her shoulders slumping. “I just can’t focus right now. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” She reached out for their hand, squeezing it gently. “Please, repeat it. I swear I’m listenin’.”

“Just a bit, at least. Have you been drinking?”

“I-- I didn’t think you’d want to. And it’s stupid anyways, I just wanted my dad to get off my back when I had to see him...” He didn’t quite look at them, eyebrows knit as he finally glanced up. “... Oh. Were you being sarcastic?”

His head turned, eyes opening slowly with another grunt. “-- Thete?” he mumbled, trying to offer a smile before coughing through how hoarse his voice was. “What the hell happened?” to be honest, he could’t quite remember, and then his concern shifted again. “-- You look awful.”

Koschei was still waking up, eyelids heavy, still closed as he pressed into their hand. “Thanks. I don’t put loads of product in it like you...” he said with a little smile, opening up an eye to finally look at them.
