Dew's paw tapping came to an abrupt halt.
"You're makin' me anxious," Swiss growled. "Stop tappin'"
"Yeah you are," Swiss, Phantom and Rain chorused, before glancing at each other in mild surprise.
"Aeth's not picking up. It's not my fault I'm getting impatient!" The smallest ghoul let out a sigh. "Fuck. Fine. Sorry. Sheesh. Satan forbid a guy misses his packmate. Dickheads."
Swiss was at his side with one fluid motion. Brushing against his mate and invading his space so close that Dew could taste his breath. A deep purr thrummed against Dew's skin, and he felt it immediately calming his racing heartbeat.
"He's like an hour ahead, Babe. It's like 1am back home. Chill, he'll make time to catch up with us." Swiss' rough stubble scratched at Dew's neck, and a wave of heat pulsed from him in response.
"I just want to tell him how our first ritual went..." The fire ghoul whispered. His tone softer now. He found the words harder to find as his thoughts left Aether and his phone and Sweden and the show, and slowly became consumed with Swiss' scent, warmth and deep, husky voice - hoarse from singing.
"He'll call back!" Phantom piped up, joining the pair on the sofa. "He'll want to hear all about it as soon as possible! I bet Sunshine is already up on social media right now hunting for updates! Why not give her a call? I know she'll be up - probably playing Fortnite." Their bumped cheeks, and Dew would never admit how much he savoured the feeling of fur against his skin. He bit back his tears.
"...yeah I guess." A broken purr broke its way out of Dew's throat as Swiss' fangs brushed against his skin. "I just miss them."
"Me too, Firefly." Swiss' hot breath made the fire ghoul shudder. His phone dropped to the floor.
"We've made it through a tour without Aeth and Sunny once," Rain murmured, although her voice wavered slightly. "We can do it again." Dewdrop sighed as the water ghoul slotted in against his right side, and a webbed hand found his jaw. Then the dip of his throat where Swiss' tongue left him longing for more. Rain tightened her grip.
He closed his eyes. His pack wasn't complete right now, but Rain was right. They'd done this before and they'd do it again. And when they reunited with Aether, Sunshine and Cumulus, it'd be that bit sweeter and worthwhile.
