C'mon, guys! I know dog stereotypes like eating out of bowls aren't really a thing on this show, but throw Josh a bone!

Now seriously, I believe this is because the Blue's Clues universe does not have a fourth wall, they are sentient book characters in the universe (hence why "Storybook World" and the original series began with a book being opened), and many musicals are based on books.

Quichotte reads like a drug. Rushdie's newest novel is almost a literal hallucinogen, and it's like reading a myth of my own times. I feel what Oedipus must have felt if he'd heard The Odyssey being sung. A myth of "we, the broken people!" in the modern Age of Anything-Can-Happen, where "life had become a series of vanishing photographs, posted everyday, gone the next".

The diasporic consciousness manifests itself in the absurdity of the racial abuse encountered by Quichotte and Sancho, when all poor Quichotte did was to indulge in his harmless eccentricities but the whites were so very incensed just by their sight that they heard their very words as codes for violence. Rushdie the master Author blends the political into the surreal with such linguistic maîtrise that you should be unable to discern it from the fictional but its clarity stands very harshly before your eyes. This again proves how contemporary a story it is and how Rushdie with his acerbic pen points fingers easily and directly.

There is intertextuality at its height - the episodic narrative is replete with classical references, from movies, history, books, myths. Even as an informed literature student, I find it hard to keep up with the sheer density and pace of the allusions. It is an absolute treat to read and to understand but also somewhat elitist for that very reason. It is like the twin New Yorks that Quichotte describes - one vibrant, welcoming, the other with its "high forbidding walls made of wealth and power".

you’re thinking under 7th dimension physics, where a universe would need to have a different big bang that allowed for different physics and outcomes. for ut to exist in a literal reality, you’d have to have magic to be real too. so thats... a bit different than just a multiverse which covers multiple timelines and universes. its really stretching the idea of possibility.

also consider how outside of toby fox’s mind, there is no definitive undertale. every player is going to experience the world differently, think about it differently, and have the world be uniquely theirs. are all of these different undertales real? are any of them a true undertale if it doesn’t match the one you experienced?

another angle you can go on is the idea that ideas are separate from humanity and in a sense, exist outside of just our minds and being just concepts. the idea that you are not in fact making ideas, concepts, fictional worlds, but the ideas coming to you are breathing and living through you. using you as a conduit to exist within our reality.

I was tagged on my main account by @scamperingkaos to write a story in 100 words. This ended up being a much longer thing that I’m still working on, but here is a (painstakingly refined) 100-word snapshot of it:

“Noise clouds into the laws of time and space, a shattering semi-truck of unreality. Dimensions are supposed to be distinct, or so I’m told, but they’ve lied to me about enough else that I’ve decided the word just does whatever it damn well pleases from my point of view. That’s the thing, right? There will always be as much chaos as there are people, whether thundering footsteps that make the air close in on me, or thick suffocation for the click of heels on linoleum floor. That’s the one that’s haunted me for all of this mistake of a life.”

My friends call me Matches, and I'm the owner of this blog. My pronouns are She/They, so please use both. This is a blog heavily inspired by @missed-connections-of-fear, somewhere for people to send in their own experiences of the Fearpocalypse and discuss lore. Sort of a therapy group, if you will, for both avatars and those affected. I’ll reveal more and more about my own character, Radio, along the way as I’ll be posting from her perspective, unless otherwise stated.

A few ground rules:

-You can ask Radio whatever you’d like about herself, her life, or her friends

-If you want to, you can even ask me, (Matches) anything you want. My DM’s are always open if you want to discuss something privately.

-Submissions can be however long you want them to be, I enjoy reading them. Feel free to follow up on previous submissions and tell your own Fearpocalypse stories, I’d be great if you mentioned the original post to make it easier on me, especially if you're sending it anonymously. 

-You can follow up or add to other stories, as long as you're just adding and not taking them over.

-I’d actually cry if you made art of my character, but if you’d like to make art of other people’s narratives, I’d ask first.

-I’ll have a general tag list at the bottom of this post, but if you’d like for me to tag for something specific, all you have to do is ask. Seriously, I don't mind. The last thing I want to do is unintentionally trigger someone.

-That being said, this is a Magnus Archives themed blog, so all of the general horror and non-reality tags still apply here.

-I do have a narrative for Radio planned, but if you want to stick around just to submit/read submissions, that's totally fine! I tag all the posts with just Radio’s thoughts with #Radio, so if you just want submissions you can blacklist it.

-I probably wont respond immediately, I am still in school, after all. besides I want to make sure I don't run out of submissions.
