Hey, if it's okay.. could you have Male reader helping non-binary Phenomaman come out? It's not that Phenomaman's unsure, confused or nervous but he might think that it would be hard to put into words. It do be like that sometimes...
Just a disclaimer!! I'm not non-binary, so I'm not..actually sure how to word this and I hope I did your request justice >< take another short story while I work on a really big one.
You and Phenomaman sitting in an office, eating their monthly subscription of assorted melons. "How can I put my..predicament into words?" They asked. "What do you mean? Like..telling the others?" "Yes." You thought about it for a while. How would you be able to tell the team Phenomaman's non-binary? You could barely come out as trans, but even then, they didn't seem to treat you differently. "I don't think they'll treat you different" you said, straightening your back against the uncomfortable cushion of the chair you sat on. "I am not concerned about that. I just can't find my words." That's when you understood what he meant.
Calling a board meeting, in the board room, you stood there, in front of everyone, Phenomaman next to you, sat and head down, slouched on one of the larger chairs. You felt shy, being in front of a group, even if you already knew them. You cleared your throat, and you started to speak. "Uhm..thanks for coming here on a very, very short notice. I have some news. Regarding Phenomaman." You began. "Phenomaman has decided that they're non-binary. They want to be known as just Phenomaman or by their pronouns, which as you may find obvious, is they or them." There was a loud silence, some looked around and at each other. "So, we just can't use 'he'? But other than that, Phenomaman has no..change?" Sonar finally broke the silence. "Yeah, completely the same." "Cool. Don't see an issue." Sonar shrugged. "Yeah, I mean, it's not affecting anything." Robert had said, adding his thoughts. Phenomaman had raised their head up, finally, looked towards you and you could see his beard lift up and his eyes scrunch. He had given you a slight, soft smile; a 'thank you' for helping him.
