As a knight his obligations are needed now more than ever, nay they had always been required in the dire situations presented upon swearing fealty to the last Targaryen. Did he regret that choice? It was not in his nature to do so, and while it was true his service had been fraught with danger from the beginning, it paled in comparison to the hardship she herself faced. This is why he does not regret, why he only strives to become ever stalwart, despite the current turn of events, he would not falter in his vows of loyalty, for her sake.
And there she stands, alone in the terrace garden, silhouetted as evening skies bathe the city in a warm glow. It seems so serene, so much so that perhaps it’s almost hard to believe the threats that lay below. No doubt those same threats are what plague her mind, so he is mindful to not disturb, yet duty urged him to offer a listening ear should she desire it. He was her sword and shield but also her confidant.
“Khaleesi,” uttered in a gentle tone some would find unbecoming for such a warrior and man of his stature, but his inflection had always been so. He remains at a respectful distance should she presently not want him at her side, “forgive my intrusion I only sought to see you were well this eve,” in body perhaps but mind? He couldn’t say, for there was much to consider and doubtless her shoulders weighed heavily with such thoughts.
