The One with the Smile.
Seeing my father smiling like this in the last five years is always a gift. I grew up with a father that cared, yet his gaze was always clouded by responsibilities and expectations that were considered a given during his time; but there weren’t many other accepted ways to lead a life.
He worked his ass off and got to a happy place, surrounded by people he loves and that love him. I see the effort, I applaud him. I hope I’ll get to have a smile like that one day, and hope that many people will too.
