Like many twins, Scarlett and Eli are both a little slow to start talking.
As with almost all of their milestones, despite being the younger twin Scarlett is the first to speak. Her first word isnāt āMamaā or āDadaā, itās āFee!ā (for Sophie, Vesper and Riverās dog). Her second word is āDadaā, something that makes Riverās heart almost explode with pride and love for his daughter, his little survivor.
Eli doesnāt speak until a couple of months later (heād always been quiet, even as a baby he only ever cried when Scarlett did) to the point where his parents actually start to worry a bit, but when he finally does his first word is āMamaā. His second word is āCarā (āJust like a nomadā, River jokes).
They also develop their own secret twin language as young children that they speak almost exclusively when theyāre together. Even as teenagers/young adults, they still use words and phrases from it with each other.
