I am so thrilled to share another fun new project — I have a banner up in northern Manhattan (at Broadway and Isham, to be exact!). This is all thanks to @nomaanyc, my amazing neighborhood arts collective, of which I am so grateful to be a member. What they do to support all of us local artists is phenomenal. Special thanks to my fellow artist @MichelleOrsiGordon for the photos! . As for the inspiration behind the banner art... Northern Manhattan is officially “home” for me and my husband, and we’ve been here for a total of almost a decade. We love Inwood for many reasons, which I wanted to celebrate in the artwork: spectacular birding, the last old growth forest in Manhattan, and most importantly, todos mis vecinos who brighten my day and are the heart of this neighborhood. . I chose an old-fashioned woodblock style as a nod to the past, as this neighborhood has so much history to discover. From the ice age-era glacial potholes, to the Lenape rock caves, Inwood marble outcroppings, and a few traces left of what were once gilded-era mansions — I am very grateful to be a part of this vibrant community, y les agradezco mucho! . . . . . #sirinthada #nomaa #streetbanner #artdaily #artist #artistsoninstagram #publicart #graphicart #illustration #liveauthentic #livecolorfully #linocut #localarts #inwood #nyc #manhattan (at Inwood, Manhattan) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzdCsvQnbB-/?igshid=15y7ts070qd96
