Hey, it’s not our fault RT loves to make them so targetable. ^^ Jokes aside, no, we aren’t targeting them at all: it’s not targeting when there’s a valid reason for criticism! I understand that joking around can be a coping mechanism, but the problem is that the ‘joking around to make light of a tragedy’ kind of relationship wasn’t established with Yang and Tai before he said what he said. It came out of the blue, and therefore, it was very weird and shocking to those of us who watched that scene.  Also, Yang’s situation and Jaune, Sun, and Taiyang’s aren’t similar whatsoever. Jaune hasn’t done anything wrong so far except make a slightly boneheaded comment; Sun commited some admittedly creepy actions even if he had kind intentions; Taiyang made a callously cruel comment, even if his intention was to make Yang see past her emotions. However, Sun, Tai, and Jaune’s actions were all their own doing. Yang’s arm was... not her fault at all, so I don’t understand how you equate someone losing a limb to someone acting in a shitty manner. We joked about it because she was a main character, therefore the loss hit harder, and secondly, because it wasn’t her fault - at least, not in a way she could control.
