Ā if youād asked me a month ago i would have said donna tartt, but i just finished the goldfinch and frankly? underwhelmed! dnt get me wrong..... a very good book but..... the secret history fucking SLAPS and goldfinch just sort of.... lightly strokes. other faves include the virgin suicides, sharp objects, dare me, and this super amazing book of short stories called fen by daisy johnson that i canāt ! stop ! re-reading !
pick one: ancient, medieval, or modern literature?
modern, definitely --- contemporary literature was one of my favourite areas of study --- but something super beautiful about reading ancient texts? just like, the way things are phrased is often so lovely? whenever i see a post with a quote from a ancient text im just :)))))
if you could be any deity, who/what would you be?
i lov artemis, lesbian goddess runnin around the woods bein a huntress surrounded by faeries and nymphs, what a badass.
which skeleton has caught your eye & why them?
all of them r so good!! but im writing an app up for woolf right now as thatās the character whoās headspace i think i could tap into most and really unpack. jacksonās such a sweet character who i also considered applying for, and i lOVE miller but i donāt think iād do them justice.
would you accept an invitation to a society such as invictus yourself?
ya :/ kinda fuming that i never got invited to one when i was at uni :/ whatās wrong with wanting to be in a cult that loves literature and art and getting bacchanal in the woods and occasionally murdering their professors :/

āDo you know my friend that each one of us is a dark mystery, a maze of conflicting passions and desire and aptitudes?ā ā Agatha Christie, Lord Edgware Dies

name/alias & pronouns: june, she/her favorite book & author: god i spent so long hating reading for coursework for but i think the first author i read for an actual academic course that i loved was gwendolyn brooks. love love love her poetry so much, changed the way i thought about poetry and writing. i also love the brother grimm fairytales and agatha christieās mysteries. the most recent series i read for fun that i also loved was the raven cycle by maggie stiefvater. everyone i knew had been telling me to read it since high school and i finally got around to it this summer and i just love the feeling of weighed down magic i got while reading it.Ā pick one: ancient, medieval, or modern literature?: as someone who Hated and i really do mean Hated reading literature for class in high school, i think iāve come around most to modern literature.Ā if you could be any deity, who/what would you be?:Ā while part of me wants to go classic greek mythology route and say eos, i think i have to say meng po aka the lady of forgetfulness in chinese mythology. i just feel soothed by the idea of being the first and last all souls see when reincarnating, cleansing memories and giving everyone a clean slate to start over again.Ā which skeleton has caught your eye & why them?: based on pinterest aesthetics and the murder description alone, i think i feel drawn to carson, woolf, christie, and barrie the most. all their aesthetics are so lovely and they each have a moment that i was thinkingĀ āthis is the oneā (yes i thought this is the One for four different skeletons. fight me.) i think woolf speaks to me most with the sad, anxiousness and the casual suggestion of where to murder a professor. love carsonās soft pink aesthetic and Revenge plot, careful and precise and concerned about Noise not Murder. christie who provides an alibi for the murder of their uncle, rough and a little bit terrible. and sweet, sweet soft barrie who my soft heart just yearns to protect but definitely wants to ruin.Ā Ā would you accept an invitation to a society such as invictus yourself?: everyone in the talk tag saying yes but i would say No. iāve never been into super exclusive secret clubs/societies and iām okay with being vaguely unremarkable. sign me up as clueless housemate number 2 in barrie, oliver, and marquezās freshman building complex who eats a microwave mug brownie at 3am while streaming pride and prejudice (2005) instead of doing work. my greatest dramatic moment of post-grad will be when i accidentally send my professor my spotify get freaky playlist and not, you know, crime and murder.Ā

yāall have got to be kidding me w this question. okokok fav ClassicTM is tess of the dāurbervilles by thomas hardy, fav YA is six of crows (yeah iām that bitch who still reads YA in her 20s, what about it), also a big fan of historical fiction so for that one itās a tie between all the light we cannot see by anthony doerr and the poisonwood bible by barbara kingsolver (VERY different books about VERY different things but both amazing 100% recommend). and ofc the harry potter series will always have a special place in my heart
as for authors, the only one iāve consistently read multiple works from is leigh bardugo so,,,,,probably her sfkldgjlkf Queen of YA FantasyĀ
pick one: ancient, medieval, or modern literature?
modern for sure. you think iāve got the time to try to figure out what those ancient and medieval f*cks were talking about? no. i had to read beowulf in high school and that was more than enough
if you could be any deity, who/what would you be?
artemis SLAPS folks! she slaps!! sheād be my pick for sure
which skeleton has caught your eye & why them?
literally all of them sfkgldfgljk but especially angelou, poor baby. i super love the idea of this person who objected in every way to what their friends were planning on doing, but still sticks with them now.... and iām definitely interested in exploring why
would you accept an invitation to a society such as invictus yourself?
probably bc it seems like the only ppl who get invited are specifically sought out by current members & if that happened to me iād be way too flattered to say no

favorite book & author:
wow! listen, this is a HUGE question because I have so many and idc, Iām going to ramble tf out of this Right, so straight off the bat - anything by Lemony Snicket ! A series of unfortunateĀ events were my LIFE ! I also would die for Margaret Atwood - The Handmaidās Tale & Blind Assassin being my faves !Ā Ian McEwanās Atonement destroyed me for my A-Levels, and urgh, the fucking tropes and urgh !! I adore Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, like seriously, I have written is back to front, analysed the shit out of it and still love/hate it lol. The Catcher in the Rye seriously changed me, I got it for my thirteenth birthday and am ever so grateful for it. Sharp Objects, The Beautiful and Damned, The Great Gatsby are also serious favourites. ANGEL MOTHER FUCKING LETS DESTROY THE PATRIARCHY CARTER, my badass bitch - with the BLOODY CHAMBER.Ā the classics - PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, WUTHERING HEIGHTS, LITTLE WOMEN, JANE EYRE, OF MICE AND MEN !!!Ā SHAKESPEARE (I Know he WrItEs pLaYs) , but HAMLET & MACBETH & ROMEO AND JULIET - fucking classics. SPEAKING OF PLAYWRITES - THE CRUCIBLE BY ARTHUR MILLER!! LIKE ARE YOU JOKING ME ?? I SAW GOODY PROCTOR WITH THE DEVIL. AND ALL MY SONS. and ofc, THE HARRY POTTER BOOKSĀ were my childhood, and fill a hole nothing else every could.
pick one:Ā
ancient, medieval, or modern literature?: modern literature.
if you could be any deity, who/what would you be?:Ā
APOLLO ! what a g ! able to bring such light, music, happiness - warding off evil !! the fucking prophecies !! ALSO being able to give and or take diseases !!Ā
which skeleton has caught your eye & why them?:Ā
honestly. all of them. but, i definitelyĀ have my eyes on MILLER as my heart weeps for a tragedy. I long for muses with backgrounds that destroy you, and with little hope to cling onto.
would you accept an invitation to a society such as invictus yourself?:Ā
accepting seems as though you an have option. So yes, I think I would. after all, who wouldnāt wanted to be accepted? gfre4fr3edw but i would be vv shit, not really turn up to meetings !!
