Th SandMan is both a part of its host and not. The bigger it gets, the stronger and harder to manage. In good times it'll shrink, in bad times it'll grow and even manifest on its own when Mikey sleeps. The only time it went to sleep completely was when Mikey was in the army. It was the first time he met a safe adult.
There is no need for this level of detail, I just like making character sheets!
I didn't wanna show them before the comic, the comic is not about them Chad's only hinted at in 1 panel, but I'm really enjoying writing a rough dynamic after so much of Max and Dorian who are all softness and warmth.
I was hoping for Night Shift to be finished this year. Might not be so since it's so big.

Dispatch: Night Shift- done and done
I really wanted to do something other than Backstories for a change, just to flex. Didn't expect it to be this long and involved, but...sometimes it be like that. I was gonna wait with uploading it, I submitted this for the Dispatch fan art contest, I was gonna wait until the results buuuut among 1500 submissions I don't see what kind of a shot I have either way so might as well.
I'm gonna be paralyzed until I know, but once that wares off it's back to good old Backstories again.

I forgot to post this here. I don't really experience burn out, but I do slow down so... when that happens I just play games until I'm better.
I guess only 3 of the 4 SandMan forms are made by Mike. The Mold Man form is an independent psyche even though it has no intelligence. Up to Dra-goon the forms are all smart enough to listen to Mike to a point. They're all triggered by something. Mold Man's trigger is unknown, it's never been seen, never even appeared. Prime is the most prominent and works best. All forms of SandMan have their own minds, can think independent from Mike, but they all depend on him and unless he's 100% out they eventually all listen. This is why Mike's always tired looking. He can't fall too deep asleep in case one-most likely Prime- manifests.
