“What did you want to do on Friday?” 

Noah looked up from his DS in confusion. “We're doing something on Friday?”

“Well… yeah. For Valentine’s Day,” Kelsi said, playing with the drawstring of her pants. “I guess we should've talked about that sooner, huh.”

Noah closed his DS and groaned. “Oh my God, I'm horrible at this relationship thing.” 

Kelsi let out an airy, slightly frustrated laugh. “You forgot it was even a thing, didn't you?”

“I can't exactly forget, ” Noah said. “Not with all the ads and marketing and pink being shoved down my throat whenever I go to Walmart. But… yeah. I forgot that you like romantic stuff. I'm… I'm not good at this.”

Kelsi sat next to him, taking his hand gently. “Hey, my only experience with relationships is… well, whatever you want to call my thing with Sierra. Maybe Gwen, if you really wanna stretch it, but…”

“Those absolutely do not count,” Noah answered immediately. “I want to be a decent partner.”

“You are!”

“No offense, Kels, but your bar is so low, anyone could clear it.” Noah sighed. “I love you. And I love dating you. It's just that… we never really did traditional couple stuff before, and our whole getting together thing was… unorthodox.”

Kelsi leaned her head against his shoulder. “I'm not asking for some grand romantic gesture, Noah. That's not you. That's not us. But maybe we could go to that Japanese place we like, convince Eva to buy us some wine, and watch a movie when we get home.” She rubbed her thumb against Noah's knuckles. He opened up his palm to let her insert her hand in his. “And maybe we can do more later. If we want.”

“That… sounds nice. Are you sure you're alright with that?” 

“Noah, as long as it's you, I'm happy.”
