Everything is Chaos
My kitchen counter has three half-empty coffee cups on it right now. There's a basket of unfolded laundry that's been sitting in the hallway for two days. And somewhere in this house is a notebook where I wrote down something important that I absolutely cannot find.
And yet, I'm running five businesses from this exact chaos.
Here's what nobody tells you: the Instagram version of productivity—the color-coded planners, the minimalist desk setups, the perfectly curated morning routines—that's not how most of us actually function. That's the highlight reel. The reality is messier, and pretending otherwise is exhausting.
You don't need everything figured out to move forward. You don't need a pristine workspace or a flawless system or to Marie Kondo your entire life before you're allowed to start. What you actually need is way simpler than what people are trying to sell you.
You need to know what one thing you're doing today. Not ten things. One. Pick it and do it.
You need a place to dump thoughts so they stop rattling around your brain at 2am. A notebook, a notes app, a voice memo—I genuinely don't care. Just somewhere that's not your head.
And you need to stop waiting for the perfect moment to start. The perfect moment is a myth sold to you by people who want you to buy another planner you won't use.
I learned to fix small engines because I needed my lawn mower to work and couldn't afford to pay someone. I learned essential oil blending because my son was having panic attacks and I was desperate to help him. I built businesses because I had bills and ideas and no backup plan.
None of it started pretty. None of it waited for ideal conditions. And honestly? None of it would have happened if I'd waited to feel "ready."
So if you're stuck because your life doesn't look like it "should," or because you think you need to get organized before you can actually do the thing—I'm here to tell you that's backwards. You get unstuck by moving, not by waiting for perfect conditions that aren't coming.
The chaos doesn't go away. You just learn to work with it instead of against it.
And anyone who tells you different is lying or selling something.
