TWO LETTERS: Dear beloved readers, Sorry guys, I've basically forgotten that Instagram exists for the past few weeks, and I'm honestly not mad about it. It's nice to take a little break and enjoy my summer. It's refreshing not to have to constantly think about what's going up next and instead of photographing every moment, just enjoying it. Just being. And let's be honest, half my moments lately include naps. 😜 #pregnancylife But, have no fear, I shall be back to this wonderful little platform. I just needed a little breather (we have a love-hate relationship). But first, a few notes for @instagram: Dear Instagram, your algorithm sucks and it's killing my vibe. What was one a helpful tool to grow my business and gain new readers to my blog has now become something I have to fight tooth-and-nail just to get my own current followers to see my content. The wonderful people I've already worked so hard to establish an engaged connection with. Me, an authentic user who uses the platform organically, is being essentially punished for NOT buying followers or likes. Meanwhile, those who are essentially "cheating the system" are advantaging from your algorithm. And it's ultimately hurting my business. Not cool Instagram, not cool. And on that note, I'd really love if you could add something of actual use to your organic users: like, docking accounts who ruin the experience by buying likes or followers. That would be nice.
