The funny thing about Nanami is that for a good portion of the story, her existence is a secret for all of Japan. After her family was banished to an island when she was about 7 years old, she has lived there for 20 years, with anyone that knew about her on the mainland slowly forgetting about her (and due to her sickness as a child, she wasn’t allowed to go out much, so she was seen much either). 

When she actually escapes the island? All of the major factions show concern over her participating in the sword hunt and doubt that they could defeat her. Even Emonzaemon, the final opponent faced at the climax, doubted that he could take on Nanami in a head-on fight. They all refer to her as ‘the monster’ or ‘the strongest woman in Japan’. The prequel audio novel “Kyokotou Yasuri” goes more into depth about how she earned the latter name. At the current time in the setting, the best swordsman in Japan is named Hakuhei Sabi, whose mother is named Kokken Sabi. She trained him under her sword style and was even stronger than him.

5. What is an aspect of your muse’s canon material or canon existence that you never had the opportunity to explore but really want to?

Questions for Muns of Canon Muse

To be fair, canon material doesn't give much information about his past, and understandably so — Hence regarding exploring canon material there's not a lot I can name you. Especially with how I strictly RP him pre-game, even on my other Clive blog.

Luckily with my Main Blog I've managed to write a lot in plenty of verses when it comes to Backstory, and here got the chance to write more about the rather fragile state of mind he got that's basically on a thin thread w/ his projects — but if there's something I want to explore more which I hadn't the opportunity to yet, is more about Constance's (and her death's, too) impact, as well as the struggles he had as a Journalist prior finding out the truth, which also re-traumatized him going by what he even canonically stated. Basically? The timeframe between after School and before ... all this, pretty much.

Spotted Ogata cracks a smirk. Even though he’d been all quiet. Done nothing much more than simply crossed to see where this guy was going through such a thin alleyway. Maybe he’s just in haste to go somewhere, maybe lost, maybe just taking a shortcut somewhere... Pearl Street isn’t that far.

“ No, no. I’m not here to rob you, if that’s what you’re so concerned for.  Even though this is the sort of area. “ 

Swords glinted as they slashed the air, missed skin by mere inches. The unnaturally flexibility of the skeletal creatures became truly an advantage when in numbers. Mashu leaped out of the path of two more blades swinging wildly in the space she had occupied just then, allowing for a couple of additional meters. Distance which might mean nothing if they intended to charge.

     Silence had never felt so unnerving. Even while trapped within the endless wall of trees, he was never truly left alone to his thoughts. The gentle rustling of leaves brought needless comforts during moments of tense explorations, and even still, had there been no winds to provide such soothing sounds, he’d have sworn the faintest hint of a heartbeat could be heard should one strain their ears well enough to listen.

     But here? And now? No one was to blame for wanting to avoid the outdoors. Between the weather and what he’d now been transfixed upon, remaining inside and letting the world fall into a dying whisper seemed a far better idea than his own; having long since abandoned his current self-made sanctuary in favor of an impulsive supply run.

      Bandaged fingers twitched. The sight of red creates a river, slithering towards the nearest storm drain into murky unknowns. He recognizes them - the paleness of their skin, their mud covered faces decorated by one too many broken branches bearing resemblance to antlers. He’d by no means expected - anticipated - that of all places, the inhabitants, disgusting, vile oddities that they were, would have found their way here... Wherever here was. Yet the prospect of the forest having been so close... Enough to bring even a singular madman inside its walls... It was enough to put him on edge, more than he’d expected from a place where memories recall only the most homely of kinds.

     It takes all but the sound of footsteps to draw a once frozen form into a chaotic frenzy; wrestling out his pistol into an unsteady hold - despite all those years of training and experience. The end points towards the source, and had there not been a moment of hesitation, he’d have pulled the trigger without question. Instead, judging cast aside, he finds himself steadily lowering it instead, staring impatiently. A warning would have been nice...

       it hadn’t realized how much it actually missed the small repair cubicles that were standard for ‘murderbots’ until the first couple of times it had to repair itself here. old bitterness over being so made with ‘cost-effectiveness’ as a priority rose to mind. regardless, it had found a small repair center in the lower levels of fibonacci - mostly automated, thankfully. the last thing it wanted to do was have some human gawking at it. the automated system didn’t seem to have any objections when it offered to pay to use the workshop table towards the back of the repair center. 

      murderbot was nearly finished with fixing up the joints in its’ fingers, which had begun to stick in places yesterday. likely, the result of the strain it had put on its hands in recent years before the city - much more battlefield experience than the typical security unit saw before it was ultimately discarded for parts. it was actually quite calming, despite how tedious the task was. unfortunately, its’ momentary peace faded as it heard footsteps, and murderbot glanced up to see a human a few feet away - one that had presumably been looking at the center’s inventory and services before it had -for whatever reason- caught their attention. great.
