Man, this is a tough one because Sorey is happy so often, about so many things. He’s a very positive character, able to take interest and passion in almost all that he does. But a particularly memorable moment was when he first left Elysia, and the two of them faced the sunrise over a world they’re seeing for the first time.

That moment held so much possibility-- a world bigger than they could even imagine, a future open with so many paths at their choice. It was before his future was set by pulling the Sacred Blade and he’d taken on the burden of the Shepherd-- not anything he’d ever regret, but it placed a lot more weight and responsibility upon him.

OKAY BUT CONSIDER THIS

Rose & Alisha being old age together and knowing that they don’t have much time left & it’s slowly starting to sink in that they might not be alive when Sorey wakes up. So both of them go on a trip together to visit Sorey one more time ( & the seraphim can come as well but imagine if it was just Rose and Alisha because they’re talking about their memories & their mortality. )

& if they both died there peacefully because it’s their time to go & there’s no where else they’d rather be than by each other’s & Sorey’s side ----

I wish I knew ! We don’t get to see Rose’s past nearly enough & that’s so upsetting to me. I want to know more about the Windriders ! I want to see Rose bonding with her Sparrowfeathers ! Where are my child!Rose images like the mini Sorey & Mikleo ?!

I want mini!Rose to have the cutest little ponytail——

But if we go purely hypothetical ( because I don’t have canon material to support this ), I really want to think that there’s just this moment that Rose realizes her family right now is her ACTUAL family. We know that Rose lost her parents from a very early age ( though I had misinterpreted it at first & Angii corrected me, saying that Rose was found at an age where she at least knew her name — so she did have some cognitive abilities ). But before that, it was most likely Rose being sort of awkward in this new group of people she has to live with ( knowing that she wouldn’t survive well if she didn’t ). But slowly & surely, they coax her into being a more happy child ! So she just ends up opening more of herself. 

But since they are ( technically were ? How do you talk about what’s happening in the past but it’s in the present for them ? ) a group of mercenaries, Rose probably got into some trouble. Most likely, she was caught up in something that she wasn’t supposed to. So when the Windriders finally get her safe and reprimand her, Rose would probably just get mad back & yell: What does it matter ?! You’re not my real family ! At that point, you can probably guess the Windriders are just hurt — & most of all, Rose is devastated and ready to cry. But it’s most likely Boss who comes to her and comforts her, telling her that they may not be related by blood, but they’re her family because they love her and want to take care of her.
