Hi guys, so this is the first official post and today I want to tell you about the little tip/trick I’ve got up my sleeve for underneath your make-up to give you a base as smooth as a babys’ bum! Although this blog is aimed at those lovely ladies out there dealing with the side effects of cancer and chemotherapy this little gem I’m going to tell you about is ideal for anyone!
One of the side effects of chemotherapy and even some medications that I am on is that it can really dry your skin out, especially on the face making it SO difficult to apply foundation let alone any make-up. Until about a year ago I thought the solution was just to slap on a bucket load of moisturiser and hope for the best but then I found this amazing primer!
Airbrush Away Primer by No7 at Boots is great to give an all over even surface from which to apply your make-up, it isn’t too badly priced at £19.50 considering how long it lasts and even better when those £5 off No7 skincare vouchers are flying about. The primer itself contains light diffusing particles designed to make you look younger instantly by putting fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tones and pores into soft focus to any on lookers. The directions for use suggest to apply onto a moisturised face however I find that when you do that it slides off with nothing to hold on to. So personally I leave out the moisturiser and go straight for the primer itself, only a pea sized amount covers the whole face simply smoothing it on concentrating on any particularly dry areas. It feels so light on the face and doesn’t feel like its clogging up your pores or you’re pasting thick cover up on your skin like I have found with other primers and base coats, as you smooth it into the skin it almost turns to a silky texture. Then you’re set to beautify your face with foundation, BB cream or whatever your weapon of choice may be, with a lovely silky smooth feeling and looking base!
So here’s my finished look for today! I went for a natural look using a touch of BB cream (which I will post about in the upcoming future), plenty of concealer for my dark circles, the usual brow palette, a nude shimmery eye shadow, a touch of black eye shadow along the lash line to make my barely there lashes look fuller and a lashing of mascara.
I fashioned this look in the glorious sunshine today at a best friends baby shower where I had a lovely afternoon! It was my first outing in weeks after being cooped up in hospital and even the sunglasses had to make an appearance. Wearing simply leggings a sparkly New Look top I dug out of the wardrobe and my new metallic reversible Zara shopper handbag.
So that’s my tip for today ducklings, get yourselves down to Boots and smooth away!
Quack to you soon. Heather💗
