Summary: In order to save Hawke from the Fade, Fenris has to accept the help of the person who left her there: The Inquisitor.
Mango pushed her ice magic into the orb. The roots that had been ravenously sucking up her blood magic, now were fed her ice magic. It spread, just like before, but whereas the blood had revived them, now ice crystals formed on top of the roots, freezing them.
“Potion,” Mango said through gritted teeth. Fenris swiftly uncorked another and pressed it into her hand.
The Nightmare snarled, a furious echo that reverberated painfully in Fenris’ head. The mass of tendrils Mango had now trapped desperately began to squirm in an attempt to free themselves.
But her magic held steadfast.
“Ah, the power of the Inquisitor. Yet you’re afraid to find out you’re only here because you secretly hope he will come. That you still carry such weakness.”
Mango didn't reply. She kept her eyes locked on the orb, her magic a steady stream.
“What would be worse for you, I wonder? To have lured him here or for him to not appear and you to die with the knowledge it has all been a lie?”
Fenris thought the Nightmare had miscalculated if it intended for its taunts to weaken or even distract Mango. With every word, the fury in her eyes blazed brighter, her magic grew stronger and the ice spread further. Mango held out her hand; another potion.
“Mango. You chose to protect this name from them. Now who will remember it?” Even though the voice was dripping with mockery, Fenris thought it sounded weaker now. As though it struggled to find the words. “Only the Inquisitor will be remembered and you know best that it won’t have anything to do with you. All you did - worthless in the end.”
