disabling hardware acceleration speeds up web browsing on a computer with intergrated video. I'm using a really slow acer aspire one d255 netbook. I'm running Linux Mint 13 xfce on it and it works fine for most stuff. I plan to get myself a new computer though. If you find things a bit sluggish and you know you're using a computer that doesnt have a GPU, disabling hardware acceleration in your browser might help because it's not out there looking for a gpu that doesnt excist, it just uses the cpu which it's going to use anyways.
