I normally try to stay really far away from "The Discourse TM" but...we are never going to deal with this bullshit transandrophobia avalanche until we address that some of the people who are pushing anti-transandrophobia rhetoric are people who have a horrible amount of self-hatred for themselves. I feel like most of us who were raised as women have to deal with this when we transition. What does it mean to have male identities or even post gender identities in a world filled with toxic masculinity? When I was first transitioning, I had a hard time with my male identities because of the shame and self-hatred and...i'm going to be honest, the online trans community didn't help with that. I had no one IRL at the time to talk to about these things and online? It's fucking ridiculous trying to find good discussions on these things without any form of self-hatred. And what I mean by self-hatred is the idea that you should feel guilty for transitioning. You should feel guilty for being dysphoric when looking at your very feminine body. etc etc. That is the thing you have to confront when you transition away from being a woman. Let alone the fucking baggage you got from your childhood. *insert story of the girls in my class chasing me and holding me down to force make up on me* I came to my own conclusions, and honestly I've spent my entire life with people hating me for things outside of my control, and I don't like the idea of people dictating how I feel about MY life. The only one I fucking got. I see anyone trying to take that joy from me as a god damn thief of something that I can't ever get back, so...I learned to find the person I want to be. What my masculinity and femininity mean to myself and to each other, cause I'm a genderfluid, bi gender, genderqueer fucking dyke and the idea that my feminity is separated from my masculinity just seems so foreign to me at this point. But I used to think they were. Alllllll of that to say, I see a LOT of people frothing at the mouth that transandrophobia doesn't exist and that trans men are the same as cis men. (sorry just going to call it as I see it, that's what this is about) and the absolute dumbass idea that intersectionality and Kyriarchy is just some simple thing where all identities are in these perfect little bubbles that don't interact with each other to create new experiences (You know the fucking OPPOSITE of those terms) Are people who just hate themselves. A lot of them claim some enby identity which includes male identities. If you talk to them enough you get some poor (I assume young) person who is just engaging in mental self harm. That feels guilty for transitioning and that they are betraying the "woman race" or something. So they have to fucking hate themselves to make up for bringing one more man into the world. We can't keep doing this to ourselves yall. You, yes YOU, are worthy of transitioning. It is not some god damn moral failing if that transitioning is away from being a woman. You deserve the same "your valid" posts and love posts as anyone else. You deserve to have the resources and the support to transition in whatever way you choose. I'm not going to "discuss" this. Cause that's not why I made this. I'm not going to help a bunch of kids engage in self-harm. But just know, that is what you are doing, and you deserve to enjoy being trans and i'm so sorry that we live in a world that made you feel otherwise.
