N'nglyphics — Pull
More funky characters going brrr. This time more data visualization oriented.
I thought I'd be using these in a much simpler way, but ideas be ideas, and I like making ideas happen. Didn't think I'd spend as much time on this as I did, but it was fun. This time, most of the sounds I used are of me playing my transverse flute, then some interesting bird calls, and a lot of pitch shifting once again. And a guqin from a 2002 movie called Hero (the one with Jet Li). I've had that sample saved for so long, I love using it.
In my head, I was combining Ryoji Ikeda, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and orange gas plasma displays ('cause someone mentioned those with the last one I posted, and I just ran with it).
The ending was different at first, but then I sent the first version to my mom, and she said it reminded her of the 72 names of God in Kabbalistic mysticism, kinda like this program is searching for them, and when it finds them, something happens. I thought that was a cool interpretation, so I figured hell yeah, let's lean into that. Thanks, mom.
