The sun has barely even set when a quiet, gentle knock can be heard on the door. I wipe my hands and out away my apron to go open it. As I see your face on the ohter side I greet you with a wide smile.
"My, my. Look at what the cat dragged in. Good evening miss Joan. Did you sleep well?"
Any apprehension left in the vampire's manner gave, fully, at the sight of the other woman's smile. "You soun' like a friend 'a mine," she replied, eyes glinting briefly as they caught the light. "I did -- bes' I could with so much excitement on the horizon." It'd been a good while since she'd had the time, let alone the friends, to socialize with.
"I know what y'said, but I wasn't gon' come empty-handed." She had, at the very least, brought along her trusty fiddle. "You went outta your way t'host. Wouldn't dream'a leavin' it at that."
