Personality: Outwardly extremely charismatic and engaging, everything about him is designed to draw people in. He is at his most comfortable when he is the center of attention, since he knows he can twist any amount of attention to his benefit. Background: Sebastian does not like to talk about his childhood. The most you are likely to get out of him is that he was raised by a poor fisherman in Busan and spent most days helping him with his work before he mysteriously disappeared at sea when Sebastian (called Sebin at the time) was 20. Nobody ever found him, how tragic and mysterious, whatever could have happened to him, etc etc. If you want to know more, you’ll have to earn his trust.

As he tells it, the real story of his life began when he hopped on a ship after his father’s disappearance and ended up in a port city in France. There, he took the name Sebastian and started working nightclubs and cabarets as a singer. Growing up in Korea, he didn’t know exactly how his powers worked, but through trial and error he realized that most of the time people tended to do what he asked them to, and when he sang they became dazed and suggestible. He made a decent living picking pockets and letting patrons believe they had bought him drinks or felt obliged to tip him a little extra after a performance. If he spotted someone with particularly large pockets, he might invite that person to spend a lovely evening together and leave them with their memories a little fuzzy and their purse noticeably lighter in the morning. (You know how J-Lo is gaslighting and girlbossing in Hustlers? Yeah.)

It’s at one of these establishments that he first met Jaekyung Eun. Jae was obviously wealthier than everyone else in the room combined, which made him an easy target for Sebastian. However, for perhaps the first time in his life, his powers of suggestion failed him utterly. Oh, the attraction was there of course, but no matter what he said, he couldn’t entice Jae into leaving the club with him. This was infuriating, but also fascinating, and he made it his personal mission to seduce Jae utterly and figure out what it was exactly that made him so resistant to his compulsions.

So began a long, torrid affair that he was surprised to find himself enjoying. His previous flings had never lasted longer than one night and he usually became bored with people once they had exhausted their usefulness to him, but Jae was never boring. Eventually though, just like everyone else, he did exhaust his usefulness. Sebastian used Jae’s connections in the fashion world to land a modeling gig and cut ties once he had established himself.

He spent the next five-ish years jetting around Europe for a variety of modeling jobs. In between gigs, he attached himself to wealthy people, enjoyed fancy parties and fine dining on their arm, and moved on after he had tucked away enough incriminating information to blackmail them with potential scandal.

He’s made many connections with mortals and anthros alike in his travels, and was intrigued by Marina’s offer. He decided to join Nemean Lion less out of any selfless desire to help the community, and more to make sure he had access to the flow of information about this situation. It always pays to be in the know, and it’s only fair to offer his own information in exchange.

lydia’s father was born and raised in hualien city, taiwan, and he always thought he would raise his family there, too. he was a certified genius, but he was humble about it, partially because he came from such a humble background. his family wasn’t poor, but it felt like they always just had enough to make it by. although the idea of traveling and seeing the world sounded like a nice idea to keung, he thought it would remain nothing more than a dream.

and he was...happy with that, actually. or if not happy, then satisfied. he loved his hometown, and his family, and he liked the idea of a life staying exactly where he was. but thanks to his entrance exam results, he had his pick of which school he wanted to go to, so he went to national chiao tung university, a school where the majority of his peers would be studying the same thing as him -- engineering.

keung had always loved computers, even when his family didn’t own one at home of their own. as a child, he had always wanted to learn everything about how they worked and how to make them better, if that was even possible. this passion carried him through college and he applied to work in the states, assuming it was a longshot.

much to his surprise, keung was offered a job as a software engineer at microsoft, and though he was never as confident in his abilities as he should have been, he knew he had to take the job.

it was in seattle where keung met circe. he had never been very successful with women. they liked him, or so he was told, but that was just the problem. he needed to be told that people were interested, otherwise he’d never notice. it was partly a lack of self-confidence and partly the fact that keung was always so inside his head. his brain didn’t have a snooze button, so on and on it whirred, even when he was doing seemingly mindless activities.

circe, of course, was different. she spoke her mind, no matter how strange her thoughts may have sounded. he was astonished by how little she knew about technology and took on what he believed to be something of a teacher role when it came to setting up her various devices and showing her how to use them.

little did he know, circe had no use for these things. they were all just a ploy to get closer to him. because he’d become her own personal geek squad, he found himself spending a lot of time at her home, sharing dinners and endless conversations with her. when she asked him to stay the night, he planned on saying no but heard himself agree instead. it was strange, because it wasn’t that he didn’t want to, he just wasn’t the type to let himself get close to someone like her, who was so above him in nearly every respect. keung blamed it on the wine; when he kissed her first, when he pulled her closer with his hands on her hips, especially when he guided her towards her bedroom, all of it could be attributed to his low tolerance levels. even if he didn’t feel drunk.

this continued for a while, because it turned out he had completely fallen for the goddess, but everything changed when she announced her pregnancy and soon enough su-wei was born. and hey isn’t this post supposed to be about her i’m so sorry

after that...circe disappeared. she told keung the truth of who she was, why she couldn’t stay, how she had already stayed much longer than intended because of her fondness for him. suddenly he was raising a child on his own in a country that was still largely unfamiliar to him, much earlier in life than he ever could have imagined.

thankfully, seattle has a pretty big taiwanese population so he found a support system through fellow immigrants and those raised by them, and they helped him navigate through both living in america and raising a daughter.

lydia, as she went on to be called, completely adored her father. he never raised his voice but his quiet disappointment was enough to make her regret any and every mistake she ever made. she wanted to do well in school to make him proud. overall, she tried to be the perfect daughter to make up for the fact that it was just the two of them. with a dad like him, she didn’t need a mother.

but when she inevitably found out who her mother was, her tune changed a bit. she was immediately obsessed with the idea of her mother being someone so cool and the fact that she herself could do magic thanks to her. lydia didn’t use it for anything that fun at first, mostly just for dumb things, to prove to herself that this was really real and she had powers.

growing up with just her father, she spent a lot of her childhood in and around his office, as well as being babysat by his co-workers or having playdates with their kids. her love for technology was, then, inevitable. it was in her blood, and thanks to her surroundings, it had seeped into her skin, too. but lydia’s interest in technology was different from her father’s. she didn’t necessarily want to improve upon what already existed, she wanted to invent and create things that nobody had ever imagined before.

unfortunately, just like her father, she had difficulty fully believing in herself. she’d get so invested in projects and then completely fall apart when they failed. keung would tell her it was all part of the process, the failing was especially important, but it was hard for her to accept. she also had something of a fear of rejection. people generally seemed to like her, but she was so afraid of losing their affections that it was hard for her to put herself out there. she found herself falling into friend groups, dating people just because they expressed interest, becoming somewhat of a voyeur of her own life.

although her father was highly intelligent, he was also protective, and not much for self-defense. he could pass on his coding skills and inquisitive mind, but he couldn’t help his daughter when monsters came hunting her down. for that reason, he sent her south to nemean lion and trusted that they would keep his lydia safe, as well as teach her all the things that he couldn’t.

god why is this so long let’s kind of treat this section as a TL;DR for lydia’s personality! lydia is all of the following things: headstrong in her beliefs, self-conscious in her self worth and own talents, hesitant to voice her feelings, especially when they’re unpopular, and always doing her best despite all the doubts in her head. but once she’s alone or with someone she trusts, she’s much more honest and unfiltered, super duper vocal about her thoughts and self-righteous about doing what’s right and defending those she loves. it’s much easier for her to stand up for others than it is for her to defend herself

she always wants to help others, to reach out when they’re clearly struggling or having a tough time, but it can be very hard for her to put herself out there unless she’s extremely close to the other person...which is in itself difficult, because she’s not good at opening up. the words don’t always come out right, sometimes it feels like they never do, and she hates the fact that her mistakes can ruin things that she cares about

phoenixes have never been quite as romanticized, or feared, as other immortal creatures. fangsu doesn’t consider herself a monster in the conventional sense...at least not for obvious reasons. there is something monstrous in the idea of watching everyone you love die while you continue on life after life. and, luckily for fang, it is just an idea. for now. she was born in the eighties and has yet to die, which almost makes her feel like a normal person.

minus the fireballs and flying and magical tears but those are all things that are pretty easy to hide. fangsu actually finds her phoenix form to be exceptionally beautiful, but it also only highlights her loneliness.

which is why she jumped at the chance to come to nl! even if they don’t understand what it’s like to be her, at least they know what she is. which isn’t something she generally shares with humans. well, she did once, and that was a terrible mistake.

like all good fairytales, it started with true love. and loyal to the brothers grimm’s formula, it featured a tragic death. almost. fangsu has been in love only once, and it ended with heartbreak. not because he died, but because he didn’t. when it seemed he was fatally injured, the tears came freely, and along with them, his life was saved.

happily ever after, right? unfortunately, instead of thanking her for saving his life, he was repulsed that she was actually a monster all along. she was a liar, playing god, and all her success as a doctor was due to magic instead of hard work. nevermind that being a phoenix hadn’t helped her at all in studying for exams and earning her degrees, but anyway!

she’s happy to lend a hand in the infirmary, healing people more like herself than any human could ever be. it’s also sort of a challenge for herself, getting to work around individuals who heal differently than her usual patients and also have wild ass injuries comparatively

whatever torrid affair danilo galang had with melinoe back in the day, rory doesn’t care to know any of the details. all he knows is that one day she disappeared just as quickly as she had appeared, leaving a baby in danilo’s care, and he’s been trying to get rid of rory ever since. as soon as rory was old enough to understand, the feeling has been mutual. just as well that rory had stumbled onto nemean lion so early on — it meant that someone else could keep an eye on danilo’s weird sullen child that spoke to himself too much. not that rory’s dad ever told him about the godly part of everything. honestly, he’s still not sure how much danilo actually knows and he’ll never ask. the mass of spirits that haunted san francisco’s streets gave him a few clues when they weren’t actively frustrating him, but nemean lion really filled in a lot of the gaps. he’s been at nemean lion for as long as he can remember and he holds a fondness for it even though he’ll never admit or show it.

 major  youngest  son  syndrome  [ie,  getting  what  he  wants  before  even  asking  /  receiving  gifts  before  its  released  to  the  public  /  every  question  answered,  qualm  satisfied  /  etc.  ]  spoiled  rotten  to  the  core  from  his  parents  and  brothers,  doted  on  selectively  as  a  child.  literally  didn't  need  to  do  a  thing  as  it  would  be  taken  care  of.  parents  stopped  giving  a  proper  shit  around  age  5  —  namely  due  to  job  obligations,  and  the  fact  the  older  brothers  were  old  enough  to  watch  over  their  younger  one  now,  (and  the  parents  didn't  have  to  anymore.  hurrah!)  but  they  raise  him  alongside  the  family's  nanny.

you  know  the  vibessss  lip  bite  emoji  but  he  grew  up  as  basically  one  of  the  guys  from  f4!  went  to  private  boarding  schools  abroad,  took  extra  etiquette  and  cultural  courses  after  classes,  did  internships  overseas.  despite  having  basically  it  all,  klaus  was  an  unhappy  little  shit.  it  could  have  something  to  do  with  the  fact  that  his  parents  made  this  face  😐  whenever  they  were  around  him,  forgot  his  birthdays,  or  never  had  said  they  loved  him.  the  more  it  showed  that  he  was  not  vibing  anymore  [ie,  aggressively  drawn  doodles  with  a  red  crayon  of  his  parents  in  space  without  helmets  or  tripping  a  kid  down  a  flight  of  stairs  for  having  the  same  backpack  ]  the  less  their  parents  gave  a  shat.  but!  their  brothers  did  the  best  they  could,  and  stepped  up  in  a  lot  of  ways  their  parents  just  never  could.  was  raised  along  other  spoiled  gremlins  +  notably  hung  out  with  his  brothers  /  their  friends,  so  klaus  was  exposed  to  the  partying  lifestyle  🤑😎🤩  early  on  as  they  grew  up.

((triggers: death / drowning accident)) he's  13  when  his  life  changes  for  the  first  time.  it's  a  typical  night  —  sneaking  onto  one  of  their  privately  owned  beaches;  half  empty  bottles  sticking  from  the  sands,  joints  being  passed  around,  the  sound  of  old  music  playing  from  a  portable  radio  —  the  splash  of  water,  the  eternity  that  being  young  feels  like.  everyone's  high,  and  klaus  is  in  and  out  of  sleep,  and  they  should  wake  up  faster  after  the  second  eldest  noisanthia  guttural  screams  from  the  water.  it's  a  minute  too  late  —  when  the  oldest  of  the  three  is  rushing  into  the  water,  when  the  others  follow  suit;  when  klaus  is  finally  waking  up.  the  song  is  still  playing  (well  into  the  chorus),  the  alcohol  is  finally  empty  now;  and  his  older  brother  is  dead.

it's  somehow  easier  to  not  think  about  and  klaus  does  just  that.  it  seems  like  everyone  else  agrees  on  the  plan,  too.  if  it's  even  possible,  his  parents  became  more  quiet  and  much  more  distant.  the  funeral  goes  by  smoothly,  and  life  goes  on,  but  their  family  seems  stuck  in  that  summertime.  the  eldest  of  the  family  is  off  to  college  while  klaus  readies  themself  to  enter  high  school.  the  noisanthia  family  home  is  forever  eerie  —  very  empty  and  quite  hollow.  like  something  from  the  world  took  a  chunk  out  and  it's  never  been  recovered.  nothing  is  as  fun  anymore  without  it  being  the  three  of  them,  and  no  night  out  ever  feels  the  same.  it's  around  this  time  that  klaus'  unhappiness  molds  into  cruelty,  and  when  his  ability  [  peace  manipulation  ]  begins  to  manifest.  a  little  embarrassing  considering  their  fc  played  the  second  lead  in  boys  over  flowers  but  major  domyoji  syndrome!  it  /  golden  boy  of  his  school  and  the  richest  kid,  the  student  body  was  at  his  every  whim  bc  social  climbing  and  who  wouldn't  want  to  know  (ahem,  network  through)  some  guy  that's  related  to  some  royals???  he  got  to  do  whatever  he  wanted  and  everyone  +  the  staff  basically  just  went  🙈  like  aha  noooo  we  don't  see  klaus  acting  like  a  dickwad  aha  noooo  we  aren't  being  paid  to  say  that  because  they  donate  to  the  school🤭

((triggers: death / suicide)) there  are  three  times  in  total  that  klaus  can  remember  when  his  mom  woke  him  up  herself  personally.  the  first  time  was  the  day  before  they  visited  an  aquarium  when  he  was  4,  the  second  time  was  after  having  a  high  fever  all  night,  the  third  time  was  when  his  oldest  brother  was  found  deceased,  holding  a  single  envelope  branded  with  the  youngest  noisanthia's  name  on  it;  and  a  note  on  the  kitchen  counter.  they  can't  really  remember  the  contents  of  it,  only  brief  memories  of  their  parents  mentioning  it.  klaus  receives  it  in  the  mail  weeks  later,  and  keeps  it  in  his  nightstand  drawer.  it's  never  been  opened.  

goes  ahhhh  go  crazy  ahhhh  go  stupid  x10000,  especially  when  he's  at  parties  and  the  likes.  starts  a  habit  of  getting  into  fights  (that  he  hasn't  doused  out)  and  being  really  insane  tbh.  i  have  no  idea  how  else  to  explain  it  but  that.  he  was  getting  a  lil  power  trippy  w/  his  abilities  [  esp  when  he  got  people  who  hated  his  guts  to  do  stuff  for  him  happily  </3  ]  and  just  did  whatever  he  wanted?  mom  and  dad  weren't  around,  and  he  had  a  big  ass  empty  house  that  would  occasionally  be  filled  to  the  brim  with  people  on  weekend  nights,  plus  there  was  no  one  really  to  counter  argue  with  him  or  his  ideas!  so  that's  fun.  while  all  of  this  is  happening,  klaus  has  been  raised  to  appear  near  pristine  so  no  one  really  has  any  idea  that  he's  from  hell.  <3  works  out  in  his  favor  [  ie,  potential  rumors  from  his  school  days  dying  out  before  getting  too  far  out  in  the  world  ]  +  using  his  ability  to  make  his  #haters  become  #stans  helps  a  lot  too  lmao!  very  much  a  total  asshole  and  not  a  really  funky  fresh  guy!  almost  gets  yanked  out  of  highschool  for  hooking  up  with  the  dean's  kid  but  his  parents  pay  them  off  and  instead  he  graduates  early  LMFAO  [  with  honors,  ofc  ].  moves  to  bangkok  briefly  afterwards,  wasting  away  some  years,  works  as  an  intern  in  the  government  house  [  nepotism  perks!  ].  one  of  his  supervisors  is  acc  a  demigod  and  can  tell  something  is  up  right  away  with  the  little  freak  being  a  prick  and  people  are  still  helping  him!  is  confronted;  which  leads  to  them  exploding  with  their  parents  who  basically  admit  the  entire  thing  like  okay  boo  fucking  hoo  niklaus  you're  a  demigod.  i  have  a  checklist  to  complete.  yk?  so!  this  leads  us  here.  

he  gets  a  call  from  supervisor's  friend  at  nemean  lion  [  plot  idea!!  ]  who  navigates  him  how  to  get  to  there.  flips  his  family  home  off,  books  a  one  way  ticket,  and  leaves  for  los  angeles  without  so  much  of  a  shit!  he's  currently  in  the  ambassador  role  since  it  makes  the  most  sense  for  him  and  he  loves  people  staring  at  him  so  it  works  out  anyways!  arrived  at  the  beginning  of  august;  travelled  around  nearby  towns  and  cities  before  moving  in  officially  at  nemean  lion.

uhhh  truthfully  he  is  the  worst  muse  i've  ever  had  LMAO  so  idk  what  to  say  😔  jk  (not  rly)  he's  just  as  hot  headed  and  quick  to  react  as  usual,  anger  sitting  on  the  tip  of  his  nose.  this  is  both  literally  due  to  who  he  is  a  person  and  ironically,  a  limit  from  his  abilities!  a  politician's  kid  through  and  through  so  he's  completely  😁  at  first  glance  /  convo,  no  one  would  suspect  how  he  is  unless  he's  comfortable  with  them  or  he  chooses  to  pull  back  the  mask.  image  is  everything  in  a  way  so  he  tries  to  keep  his  as  prim  and  proper,  as  if  it's  the  complete  opposite  of  word  that  swirls  around  him.  VERY  flirty  will  literally  talk  up  anyone  he  finds  hot  and  tends  to  prefer  flings  /  one  night  stands,  nothing  clingy  or  consistent  [  like  a  proper  fwb  situation  is  asking  a  lot  out  of  him  ]  JDGNJDG  :/  likes  to  have  a  good  time  so  he  doesn't  really  think.  about  anything!  just  living  off  anger  and  adrenaline  at  this  point.  drinks  and  smokes  a  lot,  does  other  shit  too.  doesn't  fuck  with  large  bodies  of  water  and  tends  to  have  night  terrors,  resulting  in  bouts  of  insomnia.  despite  ALL  that  tho...i  swear  he  has  some  redeeming  qualities!  albeit  a  few  but.  they're  a  pretty  good  listener  and  have  a  tendency  to  be  realistic,  enough  that  is  straight  to  the  point  but  he's  learned  how  and  when  to  soften  up  the  blunt  edges  of  his  words  depending  on  the  person.  extremely  loyal  and  overprotective;  would  throw  himself  to  the  wolves.  underneath  all  that  anger  is  just  sadness,  a  lot  of  untapped  grief,  and  pain.  it's  something  that  i  hope  to  unravel  through  development  —  but  so  far,  not  much  has  changed!  they  do  know  something's  not  right,  but  he's  not  sure  what  it  really  is.  lost  and  confused,  living  each  day  as  it  comes.  maybe  being  at  nemean  lion  will  give  him  that  answer.  in  the  mean  time,  they’re  a  walking  red  flag  and  menace  to  society.  pls  do  not  give  them  the  time  of  day!  </3
