The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Imphal, was established in 2010 and is one of the 31 NITs across India recognized as Institutes of National Importance. The founding of NIT Imphal, located in the Langol area of Imphal, Manipur, aimed to improve technical education and research in the country's northeastern region. It functions under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
