Y'know what its my birthday I *can* make a self-indulgent poll
Which one of my flocs is the hottest?*
Dr. Francis Collins
Josie Lyness
Malachai Charmante
Isaac Collins
Lord Vivian/The Facetious Aristocrat
The Funambulist + The Beholder (package deal) (hi dragons)
Nirupama
The Delicate Devil
Aphelion Becket
nosy button for me
*excluding Marion bc I dislike the idea of people thinking she's hot XD feels wrong somehow
Alright. Cracks knuckles. Time to talk about my ocs' disabilities. Settle in this'll be a long post all of these guys are disabled somehow. I'll put it under the cut
Francis has major burn scars on his hands that restrict his mobility. He struggles with fine motor movements, and overuse or exposure to the cold can make his hands stiffen to the point it's difficult to hold anything. Unfortunately his solution has been to wear gloves (which often restrict his mobility further) and avoid situations in which he has to hold small things- hence why he no longer drinks; he can't hold the stem of a wine glass. The Unlucky Devil has started giving him hand massages, which has helped with the stiffness greatly. He could probably benefit from regular amber treatments but unfortunately he's definitely not going to do that
Josie is autistic, and writing about all the ways that's affected her life could be the topic of a whole other post so I'm going to condense things a lot here. She doesn't outwardly emote in traditional ways- her expressions are largely just subtly different variations of scowls and :| faces- and speaks in a monotone. Her sensory issues mean she can't wear any clothing tight against her body, which clashes with her dysphoria because it keeps her from being able to bind. She compensates for this by wearing layers of thick baggy clothes (and often gets overstimulated by overheating). She does just have anger issues in general, but 6/10 times the reason she's pissed off is because she's overstimulated. Her albinism was inherited from her mother, and along with causing her problems with sunburn back on the surface, is why she has strabismic amblyopia (specifically esotropia- one eye crosses inwards). She is almost what would be considered legally blind in her lazy eye, and has learned to compensate for the loss in depth perception with other visual cues
Malachai is damaging their body quite a lot through Seeking, in ways that won't become apparent until they turn back and lose the haze it puts in their mind- and I've forbidden myself from talking about post SMEN stuff until I actually finish the storyline. It's my carrot on a stick to get me through it. So I'll just say that they will have problems with anemia, chronic pain, muscle weakness, and osteoarthritis and leave it at that for now
Marion is also autistic, and very very much has the black and white morality and strong sense of justice- she's very much latched onto victorian ideas about propriety and christian values as the Rules That Tell Her How The World Works. She struggles greatly to connect with others; subtle social cues are difficult for her and she is easy to find annoying. I once described her as being kind of like if Berdly from deltarune was a christian victorian young woman and that remains true. Her autism is a large factor as to what caused her parents' infantilization and over-controlling of her, that and the fact that she was their youngest child and only daughter
Isaac is also also autistic- and it basically shaped pre-death Isaac's entire life, but that could also be its own post. Actually I might save diving into the ways if affects her for said post. Just know that he is also autistic
The Silver-Eyed Funambulist is blind; they have corneal scarring from ophthalmia neonatorum, and can perceive the difference between light and shadow + movement close to their face. Their eyes are also very photosensitive- their sunglasses serve a twofold purpose between that and hiding that they're fingerking possessed. They also have OCD, which manifests primarily as an obsessively weighing and justifying every decision they make against their moral code. They have other compulsions but I have intentionally not developed them because I am worried about accidentally giving myself a new compulsion again LMAO
(Honorary mention of their fingerking guide/sneeing snye snake/life partner The Beholder of Hidden Truths, who @herearedragons made a convincing argument for being disabled by its nature as a creature of the Is-Not who cannot experience reality without a mobility aid[somebody to possess])
Nirupama has chronic pelvic pain, caused by scarring in her uterus from chlamydia that was never treated
The Delicate Devil has ADHD, or something equivalent to it (ADHbee...). They struggle greatly with executive dysfunction + rejection sensitive dysphoria, and she has trouble focusing and gets bored quickly. It's part of what causes him to feel so alienated from other devils
Aphelion is a double above-knee amputee- they were partially melted by the Dawn Machine, and lost most of the mass of their legs when they were peeled off the Grand Geode dock. They wear foreshortened prosthetics while at zee, and maneuver through a combination of walking with those and climbing things. While on land they use a wheelchair- it initially was a gift to celebrate when they "returned" to the Sequence, but after leaving they cut off its handles and removed the Dawn Machine iconography
Why are Nirupama & the Boatman getting cancelled?
They only met because she killed herself
He held her baby without asking
To return to life with her child she was forced to play his SICK GAMES (chess)
He's clearly a cradle snatcher 😤 (potentially millions of years age gap)
He's the reason she LOOKS FORWARD to her EVENTUAL DEATH (by natural causes)
They're weird about each other despite only interacting once. Freak behavior
Nirupama gave someone* a PANIC ATTACK by being TOO SIMILAR to the Boatman
Beating him at chess made her experience with suicide weirdly empowering
He influenced her towards being more calculating by recognizing it in her
It was kinda awkward for everyone else on the boat watching them be intense
*Drakona (of @herearedragons fame)
Nirupama is the Silver-Eyed Funambulist's mother. That's all the context you get. Vote to cancel her now!
