Ningas Kugon
Ningas Kugon refers to the Filipino trait of beginning with a flaming enthusiasm that quickly dies out. It is usually sparked by grand, promising gestures that never followed through. This has been embedded in our culture, so much so that the iconic events in our history have become distant memories, whose legacies have become limited to neglected monuments, unknown landmarks, dilapidated buildings, and rich stories that remain untold.
This blog aims to present the parallelism between the olden times and the present, in order to emphasize the lack of progress in our country. A number of significant, supposedly revolutionary, happenings have taken place, yet we seemingly regress to complacency and laziness. The spirit of nationalism quickly fades out, and we are left, yet again, waiting for another iconic event that is supposed to turn things around.
We hope that, by exposing this pattern, the viewers of this blog will realize that building a nation requires consistency, so that significant events may create significant changes as well.
Hindi ko alam pero naeexcite ako for next sem. I mean, there's nothing new naman to be excited about. Same same lang like last time, or maybe Im getting excited kasi I'm having this "Magtitino na talaga ako ngayon sem" feeling na naman, which we all know, is another form of bullshit phrase.
Lahat naman tayo diba nasabi na yan, it's very cliche. Every school year nalang magsasabi ng ganyan pero pagdating sa kalagitnaad "Ah fck it!" na ang naririnig, or basta makapasa, yun nalang. Ang ningas kugon lang.
Parang every new year sasabihin natin "Magbabagong buhay na ako" Weh? Kelan pa ba natin to nabanggit? Last year? Or 5 years ago?Β
