GANGNEUNG, South Korea – No chance of a wardrobe malfunction here. Latvian figure skater Diana Nikitina took to the ice in the ladies individual event Wednesday morning and got tongues wagging and the internet buzzing.
Nikitina’s performance wasn’t out of the ordinary, but her costume was. That’s because ordinary in female figure skating terms is a sparkly dress. Everyone has one.
Well, not everyone. Nikitina and France’s Mae-Berenice Meite are among those who left the dresses behind.
Skating fourth in the short program, Nikitina was clad in a black jumpsuit with some decorative accoutrements. The response to it was immediate, the intent behind it clear.
“I am a strong person, I am not a bit like a princess,” Nikitina said. “This look makes the costume a bit mean. Everything is strong in my program and in my life. The outfit is elegant for a girl who is tall.”

Nikitina scored 51.12 in her short program to leave herself in danger of missing the cut – the top 24 out of 30 skaters will advance to the long program.
Meite, who skated in a bodysuit to a Beyonce medley again was praised for her bold fashion choice.
And not to be outdone, Hungary’s Ivett Toth rocked a sleeveless leather vest and pants with studs while skating to AC/DC.
While they were not expected to challenge, the women made an impact on the event.
“It is not good to be afraid to be different,” Nikitina said.

Начала я вязать своих мишек от балды, потом только нашла описания других мастериц, может, даже намного лучше. Но уже привыкла и вяжу только своих. Авторством это назвать трудно, т.к. я считаю, что АВТОРСКАЯ игрушка - это что-то особенное, неповторимое и придуманное впервые, новый образ. А медвежата - они и есть медвежата, +,- количество петель... Вяжу я в основном крючком №1-2. Всегда удивляюсь рождению образа... Вроде всё одинаково связано, а мордочки у всех получаются разными... Люблю я их... Делюсь с Вами.
