“sherlock holmes seemed delighted at the idea of sharing his rooms with me.” -a study in scarlet by sir arthur conan doyle. so i started reading acd’s sherlock holmes and he’s descibed as having a thin face, tall, lean body and sharp gray eyes [by watson]. all the official(?) art has him in receding hairlines and looking middle aged, but he’s supposed to be around his late twenties when he meets john/a study in scarlet so i figured wth why not draw him with what i think is a more appropriate age look and hairline. he’s actually quite nice, unlike certain adaptations characterize him. he blushes with pride when watson praises him and keeps trying to/wants to keep him awed, calls him "my dear doctor" and "my dear boy" and smiles at him a lot. john is short tempered at times but he’s very fond of sherlock and easily impressed by his skill. he obviously cares for sherlock’s wellbeing and refers to him as “my companion” since very early on. these are just my early thoughts on them. the mysteries themselves are very thought out and detailed, kudos to acd. click for better resolution. id is in alt text.
