So I’ve started to use HelloTalk again, and it’s been a while now, prob more than half a year since I’ve used it and around a year since I’ve seriously used it. Anyways I was talking to someone and they used this phrase on me (with languages reversed) and I thought it was a great opener and I’ve been using it now and getting good responses :)

It’s the same as when people message you “I’ll teach you Japanese. Please teach me English” but with the languages reversed and in Japanese. Obviously something more personal is better but it’s a great starter and great for when you don’t know how to start a message. I usually pair this with a message in English which results in both Japanese and English responses from the same person which is great because that way both of us can practice :)
