âI wouldâve rather died beside you than watch you become this.â
That stuck out the most to Jason. It made his fists clench and jaw grind. Because no matter how many times Nightwing, Dick, said he was his brother- more like once was his brother- he always go and say something like that. He always lets Jason know how he really feels.
Jason knows he warrants such criticism, he knew heâd get criticized from the moment he put a bullet through a criminals head. He knew heâd get outcasted, hell, even disowned. he thought he was prepared. ButâŠheâs still not used to how much it hurts when they talk to him like that. When they talk about him as if heâs now some type of monster. As if, as if he isnât Jason. As if heâs more Joker than Jason.Â
Killing doesnât make him like him. It doesnât.Â
âRemember who I am? Seriously? All I remember is being beaten and murdered because batman was too righteous to kill a monster. So sorry to burst your bubbles, Golden Boy, but Iâm not your brother. The Jason you know is dead. This is me now, why canât you get that through your thick skull? Killing works. Itâs effective, and just cause youâre too stuck up to see that, doesnât mean I am. Iâm actually making a difference, you arenât,â He scoffed, âHonestly, youâre just as bad as Batman.â
