I drew this in 2012 during/after the first season of Game of Thrones. I had shipped these two way before it became a reality in the series. (I know they are technically related but that wasn’t canon back then) I wanted to create a fire and ice kind of feel, with the mother of dragons being the fire (duh!) and Med Starks bastard was the ice. I loved the idea of these two together because I felt they were well matched (I’m also a big Drogo and Daenerys shipper. I believe that they belonged together more than anyone else in the series) but of coarse that was before their characters had developed more. I’m not sure I feel the same about them being shipped together but this art piece was breakthrough for me at the time, from an artistic skill and fan art perspective.
